A custodian at Pentz Elementary School has been charged with multiple offences related to the sexual assault of four children.

On May 22, RCMP arrested 67-year-old Gerald Maurice Hudson, of Hebbville.

He was charged with four counts of sexual assault and sexual interference, following seven months of investigation by the RCMP.

Hudson appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on May 23 but was later released on conditions.

While Hudson has not been present at the school since October 26, 2023, he is still listed as a custodian on the school’s website. We’ve reached out to the South Shore Regional Centre for Education to confirm his employment status.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are anticipated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl. Matthew Leggett with the Lunenburg District RCMP at 902-527-5555. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
