Hike for Hospice is back

By CJ Goater May 24, 2024 | 2:01 PM

Hospice Northwest’s 13th annual Hike for Hospice is back.

The hike dubbed Hike, Support, Remember is the hospice’s major fundraising event for the year.

The event is taking place this Sunday with pre-hike activities at St. Ignatius High School, and the main event is taking place across the road at Boulevard Lake.

For those who can not attend, a virtual hike is starting on Friday and running until Sunday.

“We rely heavily on the funds raised to help cover the costs associated with providing compassionate companionship to over 400 clients and families each year who are facing their end-of-life journey or grieving the loss of a loved one,” explained Hospice Northwest Services Executive Director, Donna Jeanpierre

Registration is still open and can be found here, if you don’t register beforehand you can still do so on the day of the event from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St Ignatius.

Hospice Northwest is also running separate hikes around the region in Terrace Bay, Nipigon, Marathon, and Manitouwadge.
