Thunder Bay resident facing charges following traffic stop

A Thunder Bay Resident is facing a few charges after a traffic stop on Highway 11/17.

Late Sunday evening members of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting traffic enforcement when they saw a vehicle driving over 150 kilometres per hour in a 90 zone.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and through investigation determined the driver was impaired.

As a result, a 28-year-old Thunder Bay resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

The accused has been released from custody with a future court date.
