RCMP searching for lost taser cartridge in Musquodoboit Harbour

Nova Scotia RCMP are searching for an officer’s lost taser cartridge.

An officer dropped the cartridge in a wooded area along Rookery Way in Musquodoboit Harbour during an investigation on April 28, according to an RCMP news release.

RCMP returned to the area with police dogs to find the black Taser 7 cartridge but couldn’t locate it.

Police say the cartridge was properly secured, but a snap came loose and the cartridge fell out of its holster.

The taser cartridge is unusable and no threat to the public, police say. However, it is illegal for people to own police-issued equipment in Nova Scotia.

If anyone may have found the cartridge, police ask them to call Halifax RCMP at 902-490-5020 or contact Crime Stoppers to leave an anonymous tip.
