NCAA Atlantic Slam returning to Moncton!

By Tara Clow May 16, 2024 | 7:08 AM

NCAA basketball is returning to New Brunswick.

The second annual Atlantic Slam event will be held November 15 to 17 at the Avenir Centre in Moncton.

Four Division 1 College teams will take part in the tournament. The names of those teams will be announced in the coming days.

“Last year’s inaugural tournament was a great success,” says Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold. “For the NCAA to want to come back for a second year is a testament to the positive partnership we have forged with Atlantic Slam, the Big South Conference, and the league itself.”

The National Collegiate Athletic Association is a non-profit organization that regulates student athletics among 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Division 1 programs offer the highest level of competition between the NCAA’s three divisions. There are currently 363 D1 schools across 49 states in the U.S.

Atlantic Slam tournament packages go on sale May 23 with individual tickets available for purchase at a later date.
