21-year-old dead after crash in Cape Breton

A 21-year-old woman is dead after a crash on Highway 104 in Cape Breton.

It happened Tuesday just before 6 p.m. in Richmond County.

Police say the woman was from Chapel Island and died after she was thrown from her vehicle when it ended up in the ditch.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

Highway 104 has reopened after being closed for a number of hours.
