UPDATE: 77-year-old man dead after head-on collision

 A 71-year-old man is dead after a car crash in Wolfville Ridge Saturday morning.

At about 10:25 a.m., police responded to a collision on Highway 101, near exit 11. A tractor trailer and a GMC Sierra were travelling in opposite directions when they hit head-on, according to a news release from RCMP.

The driver of the GMC, a 77-year-old man from Delhaven, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 62-year-old man from Canaan in Kings County, was uninjured.

Highway 101 was closed for several hours but since reopened.

The investigation continues.
