The Fundy Lacrosse Association is gearing up to host an annual fundraising tournament.

The 8th annual Peter Fox Memorial Lacrosse Tournament kicks off Friday with the finals on Sunday.

Officials say the tournament honours Peter Fox, who died in 2015 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Proceeds from the tournament will be put into a bursary for university students in honour of Fox.

Games will be played at the Quispamsis Memorial Arena, Peter Murray Arena in Saint John, and Grand Bay-Westfield’s River Valley Community Centre.

It’s also opening weekend for the Saint John Rapids of the East Coast Junior Lacrosse League. Their games will be played at Lord Beaverbrook Rink.
