Bike Lanes - (CJ Goater/Acadia Broadcasting)

Thunder Bay has announced that its bike lanes are open for the season.

The lanes were initially set to open on May 1, but the city delayed the opening due to weather impacting ongoing street cleaning.

On-street parking restrictions affecting designated bike lanes will now be enforced.

The city is reminding drivers not to obstruct bike lanes with their vehicles, and to respect restrictions to keep roadways safe.

Thunder Bay has more than 42 kilometres of bike and shared lanes and more than 56 kilometres of multi-use trails.
