Spring Garden Rd in Halifax will not look the same this summer.

After nearly 50 years, Bud the Spud will not be returning to its familiar spot outside the old library.

In a post on social media, the much-loved food truck that is famous for its fries says, it lost the spot to a “blind bid” managed by the city, with a new tenant set to take their place.

“It’s hard to put into words the mix of emotions as we bid farewell to a location that’s not just a spot on the map, but a piece of Halifax’s culinary history-our truck’s heritage.”

They add that they must be willing to adapt and innovate, continuing to spread the love for good food.
