A Thunder Bay resident is facing charges after crashing into a hydro pole and the front steps of a home on Shuniah Street.

On Thursday evening officers were sent to the home where they found damage to a hydro pole, the house, and located the driver of the vehicle.

Officers spoke to the driver and observed signs of impairment but the driver refused to provide a breath sample.

The driver was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further assessment and has since been released.

The Accused has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.

They have since been released from custody with a future court date and were issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
