RCMP arrest man wanted for N.S. murder in Québec

By Kelli Rickard May 1, 2024 | 9:43 AM

The man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the murder of a Sipekne’katik First Nation man has been arrested.

RCMP say the accused fled Nova Scotia immediately after the 2021 homicide of 42-year-old Douglas (Bert) Knockwood at a Millbrook home.

On April 23rd, he was added to the BOLO Program – Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted list, which led to a tip about a possible sighting in the Montréal area.

Investigators travelled to Québec.

Police say the 29-year-old man was arrested in Montréal on April 26th and was flown back to Nova Scotia the next day.

He is scheduled to appear in Supreme Court in Truro May 7th.
