3rd teen charged with second-degree murder of 16-year-old

A 16-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Ahmad Maher Al Marrach.

This is the third teenager charged in the case, according to a news release from Halifax Regional Police.

The teen was one of two youths arrested on April 22 and then released without charges.

Two 14-year-olds, a boy and a girl, have also been charged with second-degree murder in the case and appeared in youth court Friday. They will be in court again May 13.

Al Marrach was found injured in the parking lot of a shopping mall on April 22.

Police say he was taken to hospital where he later died.

Th new suspect faces one count of second-degree murder and appeared in court Monday afternoon.
