A new general manager for Yarmouth’s most popular tourist spot.

Paul Rae brings over 35-years of sales, marketing and tourism experience to Cape Forchu lightstation.

He moved to Yarmouth in 2021 from Ontario.

Rae says he’s looking forward to the upcoming season.

“I accept the responsibility as the new general manager of foreseeing the future of this property. I know how it importance to this province and the community,” said Rae.

A new restaurant, ‘Nicole’s Kitchen’ will offer authentic Atlantic cuisine.

Rae says a liquor license is also being worked on.

“This lighthouse and property is a crown jewel for the area. I want to build on the status that’s already here. I’ve had the opportunity to meet plenty of locals who walk their dogs out on the property or go to see the sea mist flying over the rocks. This is a great opportunity.”

A grand-opening for new look-off platforms is happening on May 17, but they’re open to the public now.

Rae is replacing the outgoing Jennifer Wilkins, who is retiring.

He and the municipality thank Wilkins for her service and dedication.
