A Thunder Bay resident has pleaded guilty to trespassing while hunting.

In November 2022 conservation officers were conducting a simulated deer decoy operation on private property in Conmee to address ongoing trespassing issues related to deer hunting on private property without the landowner’s consent.

The Thunder Bay resident was seen looking at a deer decoy before they exited their vehicle and shot onto the private property without the landowner’s consent violating the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Justice of the Peace Bernard Caron heard the case in Thunder Bay, on January 31, and the accused pleaded guilty to trespassing while hunting and was fined $2,000.
