The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is dealing with multiple outbreaks.

There are two active COVID-19 outbreaks, two influenza A outbreaks, and one enteric outbreak.

St. Joseph’s Hospital is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak in the 3 South – Rehabilitative Care Area, and an Influenza A outbreak in the 4 North – Hospice/Palliative Care Area.

Hogarth Riverview Manor is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak in the 7 South – Violet Resident Home Area. The Walford Retirement Home is dealing with a facility-wide Influenza A outbreak.

The district’s only enteric outbreak is located at Sante Manitouwadge Health in the Long Term Care Area.

An outbreak is declared when respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms increase among the residents.
