Four men charged in connection with murder of Barry Albert

RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit have laid charges against four individuals in connection with the murder of Barry Albert (Mosher) that occurred in August 2022 in Springfield, Annapolis County.

Barry Albert was reported missing on August 28, 2022, and his body was discovered on October 8, 2022, in Springfield. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service concluded that his death was a homicide.

The investigation, conducted with the collaboration of various law enforcement agencies including Lunenburg District RCMP, Annapolis District RCMP, Criminal Intelligence Services Nova Scotia, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and Bridgewater Police Service, resulted in the arrests made on April 14 and 15, 2024.

The Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit took the four individuals into custody.

Derrick Robar, 32, Kris Buttar, 44, and Alan Rankin, 43, have been charged with First Degree Murder, while William Zinck, 25, faces charges of Accessory After the Fact. All four accused individuals are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on April 17.

Authorities anticipate further arrests and charges as the investigation progresses.
