Airport concert highlights 2024 Congres Mondial Acadien

We are four months away from a huge festival in our region.

The 2024 Congres Mondial Acadien will be a major event for Clare, Argyle and Yarmouth.

Thousands are expected to be in the area as part of the week-long festival, starting August 10.

A big National Acadian Day concert is happening on the 15th at the Yarmouth Airport.

CMA 2024 publicist Trevor Murphy says it will feature big names in Acadian music.

“Zachary Richard, Edith Butler, Lisa LeBlanc, and of course we’ve got some great local artists who will be taking the stage,” said Murphy.

Murphy says a welcome event is planned in Clare, as well as a concert at Mariners Centre and a closing in Wedgeport.

“People are coming from Louisiana, New Brunswick, France and more. It puts the ‘world’ in World Acadian Congress. We’re presenting nine full days of activity.”

More details will be released leading up to the events.
