A big clean-up of Yarmouth is coming up.

The third annual Earth Day weekend event is happening at Mariners Centre on Saturday.

Participants are asked to clean-up their community and bring bags of garbage to the centre.

Angela Riley with Scotian Shores says there will be lots of activities.

“We’re going to be doing a big community clean-up and we hope to see a lot of people out in their communities. We’ll have a bouncy castle and lots of activities for the kids,” said Riley.

On Sunday, people are invited to clean-up Hardscratch Road, then John’s Cove beach.

Riley with Scotian Shores says events like this are important.

“We have people of all ages showing up. We had a 10-month old baby to age 100 last year. It’s good to see so many coming together for a good cause.”
