Past copies of the Dryden Observer will soon be available

By Tim Davidson Apr 15, 2024 | 8:54 AM

The digitization of the Dryden Observer is almost complete.

Caroline Goulding is the librarian at the Dryden Library and says they are just waiting to post the newspapers online.

“Last year we completed the bulk of the work towards this joint project with the museum through funding from the Museum Assistance Program,” Goulding told Dryden city council recently.

“The website where the public will be able to access this collection will be available shortly.”

Goulding admits it is taking a bit longer than expect to get the project up and running.

“It was supposed to be available already, but the servers are hosted by the Hamilton Public Library, who experienced a cyber-attack about a month ago, so unfortunately the release date is TBD (to be determined).”

The Observer went out of business in 2019.
