17-year-old charged with attempted murder

A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred last month.

Officers responded to an address on Trillium Court on March 24 after receiving multiple reports of a shooting.

A male victim was located with serious injuries and he was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The teen was arrested in relation to the ongoing investigation into the shooting on Wednesday and they are facing 15 charges including:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Use Firearm in Commission of Offence
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x2
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized x2
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Discharging a Firearm with Intent
  • Discharging Firearm – Recklessness
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

The accused appeared in court on Thursday and remains in custody with a future court date.
