Halifax Regional Police are investigating an impaired driving crash at the Armdale Rotary that knocked out power in the area.
Just before 9 p.m. Monday, a vehicle struck down a power pole and brought down power lines near Joseph Howe Drive.
Responding officers arrested the driver, a 51-year-old man, after observing signs of impairment.
He was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed to traffic for several hours as the lines were repaired.
According to Nova Scotia Power’s outage map on Monday night, thousands of customers were impacted in the Armdale, Melville Cove, and Cowie Hill area.
Police say charges are anticipated.
