Wildcats part ways with head coach Daniel Lacroix

The Moncton Wildcats have parted ways with head coach Daniel Lacroix, the team announced Tuesday.

President Robert K. Irving said it was a mutual decision after a “disappointing conclusion” to the 2023-24 season.

“I want to thank Dan for his contributions to the Wildcats for the past four and a half years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” Irving said in a statement.

Lacroix served as an assistant coach with the Wildcats from 2002 to 2006 and was the interim head coach for a partial season, winning the QMJHL championship in 2006.

He rejoined the Wildcats in 2019 and the team made the playoffs five times, however, they were eliminated in the first-round this year after a four-game sweep by the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.

The Wildcats said Lacroix’s contract expired at the end of the season and the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
