A 43-year-old man is facing multiple charges after crashing his truck into a building on Simpson Street.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers saw the truck leaving a business on Fort William Road with what officers suspected to be stolen goods just after midnight Tuesday morning.

The vehicle sped off from the business, but within minutes officers watched it crash into a building.

The driver fled on foot but was quickly arrested.

The man is facing multiple charges including:

• Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
• Dangerous Operation
• Operation While Impaired
• Operation While Prohibited
• Failure to Comply with a Release Order
• Failure to Comply with a Probation Order

The accused remains in custody with a future court date and the investigation remains ongoing.
