A Yarmouth County community has been recognized by the Lieutenant Governor.

Arthur J. LeBlanc was in Greenville on Saturday to present the ‘Community Spirit Award’ to the board of the community centre.

The Town of Yarmouth’s deputy mayor, Steve Berry, was also presented with a community service award at the ceremony.

Berry says it was an honour to be recognized.

“It’s nice to be honoured for the work that you do. Obviously people who put their time out there don’t do it to be recognized, but it was certainly an honour,” said Berry.

Chuck Smith and Sharon Robart Johnson were also presented with an award.

Berry says it was a great day for Greenville.

“We also had the Minister of African Nova Scotian Affairs there, our MLA Zach Churchill and MP Chris d’Entremont. It was a really powerful and motivating day.”
