The Rainy River District School Board has a new trustee.

Lori Ann Shortreed was appointed to fill a seat vacated in February by Michael Graham.

Shortreed will serve as trustee representing Fort Frances and unorganized areas to the east.

She will serve out the rest of the term until the next school board elections in 2026.

Shortreed was a township councillor for the township of Emo between 2018 and 2022.
