Four people are charged with drug and firearms offences after a search in the Town of Yarmouth.

It happened last Thursday at a home on Parade Street, four men and four women were arrested.

RCMP say they seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun, cocaine, cash, cellphones and other drug paraphernalia.

All were taken into custody but only four were charged.

They were all released on conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

On Saturday, RCMP and the Yarmouth fire department were at the same home due to a fire near the basement entry.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
