By Tim Davidson Apr 4, 2024 | 11:05 AM

A yearly tradition is back again in Kenora.

The Kenora and District Arts Festival begins on Saturday with a dance recital at Beaver Brae.

President Edward Franko says they are working to expand a couple of the arts features.

“Come and support the KDFA Cafe because it’s a new initiative and we really want to get off to a flying start,” says Franko.

“Our visual arts reception is at the Muse in the Douglas Family Arts Center.  We did it last year and it was very successful.”

The KDFA Cafe will take place on Thursday, April 18th at the Minis Hall at the Super 8 and a night later, an electric jam will take place at Bob’s Burgers.

The arts reception will take place on Saturday, April 13th.

Franko add they also want to expand the District Arts Festival to other communities in the region.

“So this year we’re actually traveling with our piano adjudicator to Dryden for an afternoon of piano.  So we really excited this and we want to expand this outreach next year and the years following this.”

The Arts Festival ends with the Highlights Concert at Knox United Church on April 20th.
