The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has declared all respiratory and gastrointestinal outbreaks in the district as over.

The region was dealing with two separate COVID-19 outbreaks located at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The first was on the first floor in the 1A Medical and Oncology Inpatient Area, the second was in the 2B Medical Inpatient area.

There are officially no outbreaks in the district for the first time since March 26.

An outbreak is declared at a facility when the residents have a higher-than-normal rate of respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms.
