There are more plans included in expansion of the Mariners Centre.

The Mariners Centre Expansion Board (MCEB) says adjustments include how deep the pool with be at the Aquatics Centre, as well as seating and accessibility.

The Fitness Centre will also be enhanced with bigger studios and soundproofing.

“We want to thank all residents who either participated in our in-person sessions or submitted feedback online,” says Nicole Albright, MCEB Chair. “Design changes were determined based on community feedback, budget constraints, available space, and considerations for functionality and inclusivity.”

There was community engagement in November and December.

A construction tender will be issued this spring, with plans on breaking ground in the fall.
