Investigation underway for vehicle pretending to be police

The Saint John Police Force is investigation after a vehicle was seen with a set of flashing lights in the windshield.

Officials say around 8:45 a.m. Friday, a witness noticed two men in a vehicle with flashing red and blue lights in the windshield parked on the side of the road in the Catherwood Street and Ready Street area.

The vehicle was described as an unmarked older dark green van, possibly a Ford Windstar.

The suspects in the vehicle are unknown and investigstors are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video of the incident at the time it occurred.

Saint John police also issued a reminder that their members are dressed in full uniform with a visible name tag worn on their uniform shirt, exterior vest and/or jacket. Officers working out of uniform will identify themselves with a badge and police identification.
