Funding for 7 community groups in Richmond Co.

Several Richmond County community groups can now upgrade and repair their facilities with provincial funding.

MLA Trevor Boudreau announced the recipients, saying the PC government understands the importance these organizations have in our small communities.

Seven local groups will receive support through the Communities Facilities Improvement Program:

  • Friends of St. John’s Arichat Society will receive $19,190.63 for roof replacement.
  • Loch Lomond Volunteer Fire Department will receive $37,605 towards replacing the community hall roof.
  • St. Peter’s, Grand River, Loch Lomond Pastoral Charge will receive $50,000 for upgrades to energy efficiency and air quality.
  • The Louisdale Lions Club will receive $50,000 towards basement insulation and repairs.
  • Rocky Bay Irish Club will receive $20,889.63 towards a replacement deck and to add a propane stove.
  • Saint Joseph Parish Hall in Petit-de-Grat will receive $28,997 for the installation of heat pumps.
  • South Mountain Arm of Gold Community Association will receive $13,500 for deck replacement.

Boudreau said, “I’m pleased that these improvements will help many of our community groups thrive for years to come.”
