Deadline quickly approaching to claim $64M lottery ticket

Time is running out for someone who bought a lucky Lotto 6/49 ticket in northeastern New Brunswick worth $64 million.

It was sold in Gloucester County for the Gold Ball draw on April 15, 2023.

The one-year deadline to claim the prize is around three weeks away.

If it goes unclaimed, the money is delegated to an “unclaimed prize fund” and redistributed as bonus prizes and additional draws by Atlantic Lottery.

“Nearly 99% of all prizes won from Atlantic Lottery are claimed and paid out to our players each year, so it’s extremely rare that they actually do expire,” said Molly Cormier, Atlantic Lottery’s director of brand and communications.

“In our experience, there are reasons that winners sometimes wait to come forward, however, we are urging Atlantic Canadians to look for any tickets they may not have checked as we know the winner is still out there somewhere.”

The winning numbers can be found on the Atlantic Lottery website.
