The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is no longer outbreak-free.

The health unit is now monitoring 2 separate COVID-19 outbreaks at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The first is located on the first floor in the Oncology inpatient unit and the second is on the second floor located in the medical inpatient area.

The health unit declared the outbreaks on Monday marking the end of an eight-day outbreak-free period in the district.

Outbreaks are declared when there is a higher-than-normal rate of respiratory symptoms among patients.
