An arrest has been made at the Sandy Lake airstrip following a Nishnawbe Aski Police Service investigation into drug trafficking.

On Saturday police received a request for assistance from the Sandy Lake First Nation community airport.

Upon arrival, a person suspected to have drugs in their possession was located.

Further investigation revealed the suspect had suspected cocaine, oxycodone pills, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking in their possession leading to the arrest.

The accused has been released from custody with bail conditions and they have a future court date in May.
