The Yarmouth Mariners are getting a big addition to their lineup.
Defenseman Tyler Lee is back for Games 3 and 4 against Summerside this weekend in Yarmouth.
The 20-year old has been out since December with a knee injury.
Lee says it’s great to be back.
“It will be nice. The atmosphere is going to be great, it’s always crazy in here, just like last year’s run. I can’t wait to be back here and playing in the Fishtank,” said Lee.
Head Coach Laurie Barron says it’s hard to replace Lee’s skill, and his return is a big boost for the club.
After splitting the first two games against Summerside on the road, the Mariners have grabbed home-ice advantage in the series.
The Caps took Game 1 last Saturday after a four-goal first period, but the Mariners responded with a 4-3 victory in Game 2 the following night.
Summerside finished 27 points ahead of Yarmouth in the regular season.
Barron says they’ll continue to play their game.
“There’s a ton of pressure on them. If we can make them face a little adversity and cause a little panic, you never know what could happen,” said Barron.
Game 5 is back in Summerside on Tuesday.
