Classes at Halifax West High School will be cancelled Thursday due to what the school says is a possible threat.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) says they were made aware of the threat, Wednesday afternoon, and out of ‘an abundance of caution’, classes will not go ahead.

HRCE says the safety of students and staff is their highest priority.

Police are currently investigating.
