A 43-year-old is facing arson charges after attempting to start multiple fires at the Halifax Shopping Centre.

Police say it was early yesterday morning when he tried to start fires in three places outside the mall.

He then broke into the shopping centre and started a fourth fire.

He was arrested in Dartmouth yesterday afternoon.

There was minimal damage and no injuries.

The suspect is expected to appear in court today.
