A 42-year-old man has died following a snowmobile crash in northern New Brunswick.

The crash happened near Governor’s Lodge, a wilderness resort in the Popple Depot area, about an hour’s drive from Bathurst.

Mounties said they received a call about the crash shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver hit a patch of uneven ground, hit his head, and fell off the snowmobile,” RCMP said in a news release.

The victim was from the community of Little River.
