Former N.S. resident facing historical human trafficking charges

A former Nova Scotian has been arrested in Alberta for human trafficking charges that happened in Halifax between 2007 and 2010.

RCMP say the 36-year-old man was arrested in Edmonton.

He has been charged with:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Material Benefit – Trafficking
  • Procuring
  • Living of the Avails of Prostitution
  • Making Child Pornography
  • Sexual Assault
  • Assault
  • Uttering Threats
  • Trafficking in Substance (x2)

The suspect is back in Nova Scotia, appeared in court March 11 and has been released on conditions.

He is scheduled for a second court date in April.
