By Caitlin Snow Mar 19, 2024 | 6:18 AM

There will soon be an upgrade to trails in the Guysborough-Tracadie area.

Nova Scotia will spend roughly $160,000 on the Trail Expansion Program to make these enhancements:

• Chedabucto Snowmobiler Club in Guysborough will receive $90,000 to upgrade
15 kilometers of Round Lake Wilderness Trail.
• Chedabucto Multi-use Trails Association in Guysborough will also receive $3,000
for upgrading and trail construction in Queensport and Dover.
• The St. Mary’s ATV Club will receive $54,832 for a New Trail Development;
Connector Route.
• Guysborough County Trails Association will receive $12,000 for the widening of
McAllister Bridge.

MLA Greg Morrow says these trails are an essential part of our community and tourism.

“This support reasserts our commitment to growing these important sectors in Nova Scotia.”

The program is dedicated to provide funding support for municipalities and not-for-profits.

The Houston government wants to encourage communities to promote physical activity and improve the outdoor experience.
