Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora are patting themselves on the back following some solid street observation skills by members of its Community Street Crime Unit.
Just after 2 p.m. Friday officers were able to witness a drug transaction between two people, near the court house on Water Street.
Following the arrest a search resulted in the seizure of several hundred Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) tablets, multiple Percocet tablets, and individually packaged methamphetamine.
Total value of the seized drugs are an estimated $15,000.
Additionally a large, but undisclosed, amount of Canadian currency was also seized.
A 34-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, both from Kenora, have been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- 3 Counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The woman also faces a charge of:
- Trafficking in Schedule I substance
One of the accused was expected to appear in court Sunday for a bail hearing, the other was released and is slated to appear for a bail hearing on April 11th.
