The Yarmouth Mariners evened up their first-round playoff series in Summerside.

Jerome Nadeau scored the game winner early in the third period to lift Yarmouth over the Caps 4-3 in Game 2 in Summerside on Sunday night.

The best-of-seven series is now tied at one, after the Caps took the opening game Saturday night 7-3.

Game 2 was a back-and-forth contest, with the teams trading goals until Nadeau’s marker.

Nick Dyson, Liam Trenholm and Keefe Marshall had the Mariner goals, they went one-for-three on the powerplay.

Goaltender Thomas Fontaine made 36 saves, rebounding from a third period pull in Game 1.

The Mariners were once again without forward Michael Marquez due to injury.

Summerside scored two powerplay goals on four chances, Robbie Rutledge, Jacob Squires and Blake Eastman had the Capital goals and Drew Sim made 25 saves in the loss.

The series shifts to Mariners Centre for Games 3 and 4 on Friday and Saturday night.
