NSJHL: Lumberjacks make history, stage late comeback in Game 7

By Steve MacArthur Mar 12, 2024 | 9:49 PM

The South Shore Lumberjacks are the first (NSJHL) team in nearly 25 years to come back after being down three games to none to win a Game 7.

The Jacks edged East Hants 3-1 and will move on to the second round of the playoffs after showing amazing resiliency by reeling off four straight wins after losing the first three games.

Alec Howie had two goals including the game winner midway through the third period, just minutes after Ethan MacVicar tied it up.

East Hants had the lead for most of the game when Morgan Lake opened the scoring early in the first period.

The Lumberjacks scored two quick goals in the final frame and were able to hang on while adding an empty netter to seal it.

The last team to come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NSJHL were the Windsor Royals in 2001.

South Shore now moves on to face the Capstone Colts.
