A Halifax filmmaker is taking home his second Oscar.

Ben Proudfoot won the prestigious award in the Best Documentary Short category, for The Last Repair Shop.

It tells the story of four unassuming heroes who ensure no student is deprived of the joy of music.

The 33-year-old told our newsroom he felt great but still had butterflies prior to the biggest night in Hollywood.

Proudfoot was first nominated for A Concerto is a Conversation in 2020 and has one win under his belt for The Queen of Basketball in 2022.
