By Regis Phillips Mar 8, 2024 | 4:00 PM

The New Brunswick Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations for the year’s Human Rights Awards.

The commission has presented the Human Rights Award to New Brunswickers who have made exceptional contributions toward advancing human rights, equality, diversity and inclusion in the province since 1988.

Commission Chair Phylomène Zangio said the New Brunswick Human Rights Awards have celebrated individuals and organizations who have worked tirelessly to champion human rights and make New Brunswick a better place to live.

“I encourage New Brunswickers to nominate someone they see working to make a difference in our communities for this year’s awards,” said Zangio.

The commission has also presented a yearly Youth Human Rights Award since 2019, that celebrates young New Brunswickers and their commitment to building a better future.

Information about the nomination process is available on the commission’s website or by calling 1-888-471-2233. Nominations are open until May 31.
