Police say their investigation continues into a fatal crash involving a Saint John Transit bus.

First responders were called to MacLaren Boulevard and Itty Bitty Way around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 13.

Investigators say a 71-year-old woman, Wanda Ethel Roche, died after being struck by a transit bus.

Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca said Thursday that detectives are awaiting the results of a collision reconstruction report.

“The incident is still under investigation by the Major Crime Unit. To date, no charges have been laid,” Rocca said in an email to our newsroom.

The day following the crash, Saint John Transit said it was cooperating with the investigation and provided all necessary resources, including the bus involved and onboard video footage.

A city spokesperson said the transit agency would be reviewing its safety protocols and training programs and is dedicated to taking necessary steps to prevent something like this from happening again.
