Soft gravel roads making travel difficult in Tri-Counties

By Kevin Northup Mar 5, 2024 | 12:26 PM

Damp conditions have turned many gravel roads into mush.

There have been reports of vehicles getting stuck in the mud throughout the Tri-Counties.

The regional centre for education says many roads are inaccessible for school buses.

The Department of Public Works says this time of year, gravel roads can become very soft with frost coming out of the ground.

They say they’re making every effort to keep roads in good condition, and they continue to invest in gravel roads.

The department adds they’ve nearly tripled their investment from $20 million annually to $55 million.
