Excitement is building for the Antigonish Heritage Museum’s 2nd annual Lego contest.

Lego builders are encouraged to create models of any buildings in the Town or County of Antigonish that date to before 1920 – even their own heritage homes.

In a release, curator Barry MacKenzie says, “We were absolutely overwhelmed by the entries for last year’s contest.”

“People of all ages participated, which is exactly what we wanted to see.”

“Some entries were so detailed that they looked like they’d been made with a kit, and others were really cool interpretations of the buildings, demonstrating the creativity and personalities of the builders.”

The contest is sponsored by the Heritage Association of Antigonish, the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia, and Antigonish 5 to $1.

Prizes for the winning entries in both the youth (12 and under) and adult (13 and up) categories will include cash, Lego, and other great items.

The deadline to enter is Friday.

Models will be on display at the museum during March Break and winners will be announced March 15th.
