Officials are keeping an eye on water levels in Quinan.

With the heavy rain we had on the weekend, the Yarmouth County Regional Emergency Management Office is staying on top of things.

Coordinator Shane Strong says water levels are receding a bit, but more rain is coming this week.

“We went back to the reservoir, the water levels are high, but we’ve seen them higher before. We’re going to be keeping an eye on it daily,” said Strong.

The Quinan area has been prone to flooding over the years.

Strong says there was a culvert that had to be fixed by public works on Highway 308 over the weekend.
